Bez připojení Kalifornie, by pravděpodobně státy Unie nevyhrály občanskou válku a historie Ameriky by nabrala zcela jiný směr.

This bachelor´s thesis demonstrates the importance of the annexation of California by the United States. The accession of California by the United States helped unify the continent, which transformed the nation into a global power. Shortly after signing the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, gold was discovered and the Gold Rush began, prompting a great migration into California.
