Warning about fraudulent emails and password change requests

Help

Warning about fraudulent emails and password change requests

We would like to remind students to pay increased attention to emails asking them to change their password, verify their account, or enter their login credentials. Official emails concerning password changes or the administration of your university account will never be sent from a student user account, which is usually created in the format of the first letter of the first name, an underscore, and the surname, for example j_novak.

Therefore, if you receive an email sent from a student account asking you to change your password, log in via a link, or provide personal information or login credentials, do not respond to the email and do not click on any links it contains.

In particular, never send the following by email:

  • your password,

  • login credentials for university systems,

  • personal or other sensitive information.

No authorized person will ever ask you to provide the password to your university account by email. If you have any doubts about whether a message is trustworthy, please contact the UTB Information Technology Centre. Contact details can be found in the section below or on the following website: https://www.utb.cz/cvt/helpdesk/.

If you are unsure whether a message you have received genuinely comes from UTB, we recommend verifying its authenticity first and only then responding to it or following the instructions provided.

Support Contacts

For technical problems with the online application for study, the IS/STAG study information system, or the MojeUTB application, please contact stag@utb.cz. Describe the problem as clearly as possible and, if possible, attach a screenshot of the error message.

If you have problems logging in to the IS/STAG Portal and cannot change or recover your password at portal.utb.cz, please contact portal@utb.cz. In your message, describe what you did when trying to log in and include your name and student ID number.

Many emails and notifications are sent automatically by the IS/STAG system from stag@utb.cz. These messages contain the following notice at the end:

This message was automatically generated by the IS/STAG system. Please do not reply.

Please do not reply to these automatically generated messages. Replies to automated emails are not monitored and the helpdesk will not respond to them.

For all study-related questions (for example enrolment, courses, deadlines, applications, decisions, etc.), please contact the Student Affairs Office of your faculty.

If you cannot log in to your university email account (more information is available here) or MS Teams, please contact network@utb.cz.

For problems with Wi-Fi, please contact wifi@utb.cz.

For questions about the ISKAM accommodation system, please contact it@kmz.utb.cz.

For Moodle support, please contact moodle@utb.cz.

For help with library systems such as Bookport, please contact katalog@k.utb.cz. For questions regarding Refectory Facilities or access to the jidelnicek.utb.cz system, please contact kredit@utb.cz.

Please always send your question to the email address responsible for the system you are having problems with. For example, do not use portal@utb.cz or stag@utb.cz for problems with your university email account or MS Teams. Sending your request to the correct address will help us resolve it faster.

You can also find a list of information system support contacts at cvt.utb.cz.

STAG login for students

  • Account Activation
  1. Install a multi-factor authentication application, such as Microsoft Authenticator (1 2) or Google Authenticator.
  2. Go to portal.utb.cz.
  3. If you are unable to open the portal.utb.cz portal or you see the error message "ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS", we recommend clearing the cache and cookies in your web browser. Alternatively, try opening the portal in a different browser or in incognito mode. This problem is usually caused by the settings or data stored on your device.
  4. Open the e-mail delivered to your private e-mail inbox. The e-mail with the activation key is sent automatically after the faculty has enrolled you in the study, approximately the next day after enrollment at 8:30 a.m.
  5. Enter the activation key on the portal.utb.cz portal in the "UTB account activation or password reset" section. We recommend copying and pasting the key, as manual transcription often leads to errors or incomplete entry of some characters.
  6. Scan the displayed QR code using an authentication application.
  7. After completing the previous step, the application will display a one-time verification code (OTP) - a six-digit numeric code that automatically changes every 30 seconds.
  8. Also, set up your private email address for password recovery on the portal.utb.cz portal. Without this address, it will not be possible to reset your password in the future. We recommend that you do this immediately after activating your account. Please note that technical support may not be available on weekends and public holidays.
  9. You can now log in to the system using the username you can find on the portal.utb.cz portal (e.g. v_novak) and the password you created in the previous steps.

Login Credentials and Password Retrieval

Help

Login Credentials and Password Retrieval

You log in using the same credentials that you use to access the university network or your university email. Your username usually consists of the first letter of your first name, an underscore, and your surname, for example v_novak (without @utb.cz).

If you do not know your login credentials or are unable to log in, use the “UTB Account Activation or Password Reset” option or “Forgotten Password” on the portal.utb.cz portal.

Each user has only one UTB account, even if they are enrolled in multiple study programmes at different faculties at the same time. The same login credentials are therefore used for all studies.

A password reset is only possible if you have a private email address registered in the system, which will be the case for most users. If you do not have one registered and the system notifies you of this during the password reset process, please contact the IT department or the Student Affairs Office of the relevant faculty. Your request will be processed no later than the next working day.

Automatic delivery of login credentials to newly enrolled students is only possible if all of the following conditions are met:

  • you have a private email address registered in portal.utb.cz or in IS/STAG,

  • you have been officially enrolled in your studies,

  • your enrolment has already been recorded in the information system; processing may take several days.

If you are unsure whether your enrolment has already been recorded in the system, please contact the relevant Student Affairs Office.

STAG access

Help

STAG access

If the system reports "Your e-mail is not filled in STAG or you entered the wrong personal identification number, or the user with the personal identification number does not exist.", you have not yet been enrolled in the study by the study department. Wait a few days or contact the study department of the faculty and check whether you are really registered in the system, or when they will enroll you. Technical support is not used to check the status of your enrollment.

It is always better to check the SPAM folder to see if the email you generated with your user data has not been marked as spam.
